Fluids Committee Annual Report

Alexander Cheng, Chair

June 16, 1999

In the year ending May 31, 1999, the committee has the following activities:

  1. With the help of a few members, six special sessions were organized for the 1999 Engineering Mechanics Conference at Johns Hopkins University. They were: three sessions on Fluid Mechanics (thanks to the effort of Michelle Teng, Keh-Han Wang, and Song-Ping Zhu), and three sessions on Boundary Element Methods (Alex Cheng). The Boundary Element sessions were co-organized with the Dynamics Committee (Gary Dargush and Manoj Chopra).
  6. The committee has been slightly expanded. It now has 17 members, of which six are new members. The Granular Flow subcommittee has 8 members.
