The Silver Star Missionary Baptist Church has been a driving force in projects to improve life in Rome. Pastor Gregory Braggs, his family, and church members help run the Rome Youth Community Development Center. The church vision is to preach, practice, and produce the gospel of Jesus Christ to the brokenhearted, the spiritually and economically poor, and to heal those who have been bruised and emotionally wounded by life battles. The Silver Star Church works hand in hand with Rome Community Development Organization and strives to strengthen our community through faith, prayer, and practicing principles from the word of God. SSMBC gives the youth in our church, community, and surrounding area opportunities to create a Bible lesson and teach it to the congregation. We also provide a variety of role play situations to give the youth an ideal of how to deal with various life issues. SSMBC offers various ministries such as Youth Ministry, Men Ministry, Women Prayer Ministry, Worship Service, Bible Study, Counseling Certification, and Food Ministry to Senior Citizens.
