'80s, '70s, '60s ...

Gregory E. Brock ('75) has been promoted to Senior Editor of The New York Times.   He has been News Editor in the Washington bureau of The Times for the past four years, and before that was based in the New York office as the Foreign News Editor. 

Mark H. Stowers ('86) is a freelance writer in Royal Oak, MI, which is a suburb of Detroit. Mark freelances as an automotive/ sports/public relations, technical writer and says his years at Ole Miss prepared him to be a "jack of all trades."

Karen Hill ('69) has signed a contract to write a series of 20 children's books for Simon & Schuster. The new series "Little Simon Inspirations" will focus on inspirational books for kids. Hill has previously authored 12 books.

'90s

Leslie Bourgeois ('99) lasted eight weeks on the NBC smash reality show The Apprentice, but eventually heard the dreaded words from Donald Trump--"You're fired!"

Bourgeois (below) graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism, but now works as a realtor in Louisiana.

'00s

Alicia Bowles ('06) is a Production Assistant in charge of On-Air Promotions with Fox Sports Net-South in Atlanta.

Kate Battle ('06) was accepted into the DePaul University College of Law intellectual property legal writing program and will be receiving a $56,000 scholarship to attend this fall.

Janna Hughes ('05) works in public relations at Ketchum Inc., a global firm headquartered in New York City.

Lindsey Brown ('05) is a gener
al assignment reporter for WTOK -TV in Meridian, MS.

Michael Newsom and Emery Carrington ('05) work for the Sun-Herald newspaper in Biloxi.

Lorrie Lyon ('05) is working as a studio technician for WAGA-TV, the Fox affiliate in Atlanta. She accepted the position after interning at the station during the summer.

Erin Hornsby ('04) is a Public Relations Manager with Signature Advertising in Memphis.

Erin Leport ('04) is an associate producer with WSMV-TV in Nashville.

Kyle Veazey ('04) covers University of Alabama sports at the Decatur (AL) Daily. Previously he had interned at the Birmingham News and free-lanced for the Memphis Commercial-Appeal

began covering government and politics in 2005 at the Athens (GA) Banner-Herald. He previously reported for the Cartersville (GA) Daily Tribune News.

Julie Finley ('03) is Managing Editor of the Natchez Democrat. She will manage the day-to-day operations of the newsroom and will be the top manager in the editorial department.

Heidi Wallen-Bell ('05) works at the Star-Herald in Kosciusko, MS.

Nathan Geddie ('05) works as an assistant to the managing editor of Jane magazine in New York.

Chris Kieffer ('05) is the Assistant Sports Editor with the Oxford (MS) Eagle.

Marquita Brown ('05) is a reporter with the Roanoke Times in Virginia.

Dan Hargett ('05) works in the sports department of the washingtonpost.com

Kayla Clayborne ('05) is director of marketing for the Tupelo Automobile Museum.

Steven Godfrey ('05) is a features writer for the Hattiesburg (MS) American.

Martin Bartlett ('05) is an anchor and reporter for KVIA-TV, the ABC affiliate in El Paso, TX. He anchors the weekend morning news.

Heather Ratliff Denison ('99) is Director of Communications for Belhaven College in Jackson, MS.

Marcus Foster ('98) now works as a television producer at WTTG in Washington, D.C. He previously worked at WLBT in Jackson, MS and WMC in Memphis.

Elizabeth Brown Kirkland ('98) is the publications manager for the International Public Management Association for Human Resources in Alexandria, VA. She began there in March 2005 after spending nearly two years with her family in American Samoa.
