Generational Learning - Fitting Content to Match the Consumer
November 12, 2009 - 3:00 PM - Weir 104

For the first time in history, there are now four generations of adults living, working and learning within the same society. It sets a tone for the explosion of change that society faces in the 21st century. For the first time, there are four generations of adults raising families, going to work, going to school. The day of the multi-age classroom is here. The issues of how to manage diverse generations in the workplace are upon us. In this fast paced session we will examine the characteristic learning styles of these four generations and then begin to understanding how content can be shaped and channeled to meet their unique needs. Using technology as an instructional ally, we can find new and imaginative ways to meet the needs of the classrooms of tomorrow. Presented by: Barry Adams, Ed.D.

Many UM departments necessarily access and accumulate information about faculty, staff, students and external entities for the purposes of daily business. Departments and individuals that manage electronic information are responsible for safeguarding this information from improper access or disclosure. Accordingly, the security awareness training sessions will focus on helping employees understand their security-related responsibilities and providing practical strategies for safeguarding systems and data. Two training sessions will be held on September 27 at 9:00am and 2:00pm in the Nutt auditorium (Old Education Autitorium). To Register for one of these sessions, please visit http://www.olemiss.edu/projects/sap/trngcal/september2005.html
